A CV is a summary of your experience, so it doesn't usually set out the details of a case. You must still answer honestly whenever an application form or employer asks, and conditions of practice and interim orders are shown on the NMC's public register, which employers check. We help you describe gaps and restrictions factually, keep the focus on your learning and skills, and prepare to talk about it at interview. Our guide to applying for jobs with conditions of practice goes into more detail. For advice about your own situation, speak to your union (for example the RCN) or a regulatory solicitor. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
Many NHS roles are applied for through NHS Jobs or Trac, which use an online form and a supporting statement rather than a CV upload. Because we write your CV against the person specification, you can reuse its wording in your supporting statement, and it's ready for employers and agencies that do ask for a CV.
Briefly and honestly. A short, factual line about the gap, followed by what you did during it (learning, reflection, other work, CPD) and what you now bring, usually works better than a long explanation. Our Rebuilding Confidence course covers interviews and disclosure in more depth.
