What's involved

Six steps from first meeting to submission

Your mentor works through your revalidation with you, so nothing is missed and you can submit with confidence, even while your Fitness to Practise case is ongoing.

  1. Online

    Initial online meeting

We discuss the NMC's requirements, your revalidation date and a realistic timeline for getting everything ready.

  2. Review of your compliance documents

We check all your documents to make sure you meet the requirements: practice hours, CPD, practice-related feedback, reflective accounts, your health and character declaration, and professional indemnity.

  3. Feedback on any gaps

You get clear feedback on that review, so any potential gaps are identified early and you know exactly what to address.

  4. Review of reflections and feedback

We read your reflective accounts and your practice-related feedback, and help you make sure they meet the standard.

  5. Online

    Reflective discussion and final review

A second online meeting to hold your reflective discussion and do a final review of all your documents.

  6. Support with your submission

We support you while you submit your revalidation application through NMC Online.

Price and timing

Clear pricing, and time to get it right

No payment when you send the form. We'll talk about your circumstances first, then confirm the cost and send a secure payment link.

£25 an hour

For your mentor's time across both meetings and the document reviews.

£100 minimum

A minimum of 4 hours' work. It may be possible to do it in less time depending on your circumstances, and we'll discuss this with you.

2 weeks+

We suggest getting in touch at least 2 weeks before your revalidation date, so there's time to complete the work and address any gaps.

Who it's for

When revalidation feels harder than it should

Nurses, midwives and nursing associates who need to revalidate while their Fitness to Practise case is ongoing.

No line manager to confirm

You're out of work, between jobs, or your manager can't act as your confirmer during the investigation.

Working with restrictions

You're under investigation or working with interim conditions and want your revalidation checked by someone who understands FtP.

Unsure about your evidence

You're worried about gaps in your hours, CPD or feedback, or how to write reflections at a difficult time.

If you have an interim suspension order, you can't renew your registration while it's in place. Talk to your representative or the NMC about your renewal date, and see our guide to revalidating during an NMC investigation.

Revalidation FAQ

Questions about revalidation support

Can't see your question? Ask us and we'll reply within 1–2 working days.

Yes. Being under investigation doesn't pause your revalidation date, so you still need to meet the requirements and submit on time. If you have an interim suspension order, you can't renew while it's in place, so speak to your representative or the NMC. Our guide to revalidating during an NMC investigation explains more.
The NMC says your confirmer should ideally be your line manager. If that isn't possible, another suitable person can confirm you, preferably an NMC-registered nurse, midwife or nursing associate. Your mentor will talk this through with you at the first meeting. See the NMC's revalidation guidance.
£25 an hour, with a minimum of 4 hours, so £100. It may be possible to do the work in less time depending on your circumstances, and we'll confirm the cost with you before anything is charged.
We suggest at least 2 weeks before your revalidation due date. That gives time for both meetings, the document reviews and for you to address any gaps before you submit.
Whatever you have so far: a record of your practice hours, CPD, practice-related feedback, your reflective accounts, and details of your professional indemnity. If you haven't started, that's fine. We'll plan it with you at the first meeting. Our revalidation during FtP checklist can help you get organised.
There's no payment when you send the form. We'll arrange your initial meeting and send you a secure payment link.
